Because work in the adult entertainment industry, you’ll see and hear a little bit of everything. And it’s not always fun and games. Sometimes it’s even morally difficult. That’s why Pineapple Support exists.
Pineapple Support offer online emotional support 24/7 as well as free and subsidised therapy and professional advice to all artists and producers who have been active in the adult online industry in the past 6 months.
Pineapple Support Society : a free psychological support and therapy service
You know that working as a camgirl means you need to know how to use your charm. But not only that! Especially when subscribers become loyal. You could also become their confidant in this case. This means you also need to be a good listener. It will also help you to know them better, to understand them better, to know what makes them fantasise… and to get more tips at the end of the show, let’s be honest.
But if we listen to them, who will listen to us when we need it? Pineapple Support Society. Available all the time, they are there to help us. It’s a free support and therapy service for all people working in the adult industry online, no matter their gender, ethnicity, social status, age or sexual preferences.
Besides, the name they chose – and this is cute, or at least I like it – is Pineapple because it’s a common safeword used in the USA. So, it’s logical. And also I just really like pineapples. I know, I know, that’s nothing to do with it.
A professional team ready to listen
Made up of a solid team of therapists, this organisation offers several different ways to get therapy. This means you can use video calling or the telephone to contact them. Don’t hesitate to contact them if you feel you’re wavering. These therapy sessions are free and subsidised. Professionals are there to listen to us and alleviate the isolation we sometimes feel while doing camming work. They promote mindfulness and positivity by being proactive in taking care of our mental health. This way we always feel supported, heard, understood… In short, it’s a bit like a second family. And we all know that support is super important as a camgirl or a camboy.
Pineapple Support has assembled a team of over 100 therapists who provide free or complementary services to adult artists, as well as over 300 trained “active listeners” who volunteer for the service.
A well-made website
So if you’re still hesitant to get in contact with them, you can always visit their website. It’s extremely well-made and can answer all your questions. You will also find that they collect donations to run the (regular) organisation, and to provide the therapy services. Pineapple Support Society also have ambassadors for this. And a blog to give you information and tips on how to feel better. You can also sign up to become a volunteer. A good way to give back sometimes.
You can also find them on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
An initiative started 2 years ago
In April 2020, Pineapple Support Society celebrated its second birthday. As of now, the organisation has now connected more than 1,000 adult artists to mental health and emotional support services. It’s been a great success. The organisation was conceived in early 2018 by Tanit, a British artist, in response to losses in the adult industry from depression, addiction and other mental illnesses. Tanit launched Pineapple Support Society at Exxxotica Denver on 7 April 2018.
“I am so grateful for the generosity and dedication of our industry to help build this organisation and for the tireless work of the therapists who help our community on a daily basis,” said Tanit. “I look forward to celebrating even more milestones and anniversaries in the years to come. As we often say, it is normal to feel alone, but that does not mean that you are alone.”
Many camming platforms support Pineapple Support Society
It is nevertheless good to see that many camming platforms have the well-being and comfort of their camgirls at heart. More than 40 companies in the adult entertainment industry have joined this organisation. Notably, you can find Chaturbate, Cam4, XloveCam, Bongacams, CamSoda, and many other heavyweights in the sector.
If you didn’t know about them already, you now have a support to hang on to when you need it. Speaking of information, do you know how to declare your income as a camgirl / camboy?
